Barbara Orbison To Visit Rockabilly Fest
Barbara Orbison, widow of Roy Orbison, is a scheduled participant at
Rockabilly Fest 2001 June 28-July 1 in Jackson.
Writing organizer Henry Harrison, Barabara highlighted three elements in her
invitation reponse, “Roy would be honored to know first of all that there is
a “Rockabilly Hall of Fame.” Secondly, that a kid from West Texas named Roy
Orbison would be inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. And thirdly,
that he’s being inducted by his very good friend Billy Burnette. And I can’t
wait to be there to accept the award.”
Ray Walker of the Jordanaires, who attended this year’s announcement
press conference, contends the Rockabilly Hall of Fame could one day bring
multi-millions of dollars into the Jackson economy, the way halls of
fame have done in other key cities.
