                                                   In Memory of Carl Perkins

"Hello, my name is Carl Perkins.  I am a sharecropper's son.  I work very hard for what I have to eat, and a place to stay warm in the winter.  My favorite fruit is the orange, although I don't get very many oranges.   I love my Mama and Daddy, and my two brothers, Jay and Clayton.  And I don't want to grow up to be a man like Hitler.  Someday I want to be a big radio star.   Thank you." Carl Perkins

(written by Carl Perkins as an elementary student)
